We just awarded our shiny new certificates to our ten Global Interns. For ten weeks they volunteered their time and creative energies working on all sorts of important questions. In the true spirit of OpenStudy, they came from all over the world and never saw each other. They were at all educational levels, spoke many different languages at home and yet here they were able to work together. We offered them some training in social media and basics of marketing communications and then it was their turn. We know they learned to work in a global team, respectfully across cultures and geographies and to communicate across these boundaries.
They engaged with some important problems, some funny ones and came up with a lot of creative solutions. Whether they were in England or Pakistan USA or India, they made a commitment to meet us online every week at 9 am PT. (BTW, it was really cool to hear their actual voices after just seeing their typed text on the system.`) We love it when we get to know our users. And we really got to know this set.
