The OpenStudy Mobile App Design Competition
All good apps have a good user interface. They might be fun to play with, or they may have easily accessible features. Here’s your chance to create the perfect OpenStudy app.
What features should be included, and which ones should be left out? Do you want to see the chat play a bigger part? Should the app include a way to ask questions, or only answer them? How do you want to write equations? Should there be a method to upload pictures or draw on a whiteboard? Do you want to be able to access other users’ profiles? Do you want to see other OpenStudiers who may be nearby?
Now is the time to share all of your brilliant ideas. Is there anything missing, or something you want to improve?
Feel free to include mentions or descriptions of other apps you feel are well designed, even if they aren’t related or similar to OpenStudy. What did you like about them? Are there any features that can be applied to OpenStudy?
Part 1: Description
In a minimum of 100 words, describe the ideal interface of the OpenStudy app. Pretend you are using it. When you open the app, what do you want to see? How do you want to use it? These should be submitted as a Word or Pages document if possible.
2) Part 2: Design
Once you’ve figured out what you want the OpenStudy app to include, illustrate your ideas! What do you want it to look like? If you picture the app having different screens, design each one. What should it look like when asking or answering a question? If there is a menu or other navigation buttons, how do you think they should be designed?
Your sketches can either be electronically designed or hand drawn and preferably colored. They should be included in either JPG, JPEG or PDF format and included in a single attachment. Remember we will be posting the top five designs for people to vote on!
The due date for all submissions (feel free to enter multiple!) is two weeks from today, June 14 at 5 pm Pacific time.
